"Stop the tests - or the bird gets it!" - Jinny Sims

BCTF President, Jinny Sims, has escalated her assault on the Foundation Skills Assessment testing as today marks the start of the tests.
"Today is both a day of mourning and a day of action," a BCTF spokesperson announced via the BCTF web based radio program We Hate Your Children. "For each day the tests are held, we will execute a non-union teacher type. No dues - no mercy!"
As proof, we here at the intrepid Poly were able to capture this photo of Jinny Sims with beloved Sesame Street character Big Bird. (Note: Big Bird is on the right)
However, according to a brochure on the BCTF website, the FSAs have a negative impact on students, teachers, and quite possibly the reason why the BCTF administration require Viagra. As a consequence, the BCTF want parents to pull their kids from school during the 11 days when the tests are being held.
With all this in mind, Jinny's latest kidnapping plot does seem a little out of control.
"This is not out of control.", the spokesperson continued. "A well a everybody's heard about the bird...bird, bird, bird, b-bird's the word and the word is dead. All praise Jinny."
Further in the broadcast we hear from the captive bird him/herself.
"This b***h is f****n' crazy!", Big Bird laments on the audio portion of the broadcast. "A 24% raise?! Tests are bad for kids?! She's out of her f*****n' mind! Oh! Yeah, her trying to kill me is kinda lame too. Send help."
"We will kill the bird," the broadcaster concludes. "We have killed before...we have killed the ability to negotiate reasonably; we have killed our credibility...so you know we are serious."

Jinny is proof the Marxist-Leninists are alive and well and sucking at the public teat of the BC taxpayer.

I hope all the 46,000+ teachers in BC are happy when they have their $1500 in annual union dues siphoned off their paycheques to allow radical like the BCTF to play socialists at our children's expense.

Let's see now, $1,500 in usurious union dues times fifty thousand unionized teachers, give or take a few half-wits, and you have the completely obscene sum of seven point five million buckeroo's, surreal amount, same as Ontario's surplus for 2006.

Imagine that, and Dalton's crying poor already, as a result.

All I can say is, "Stupid is as stupid does", just like Jinny Simms.

Her CUPE counter-parts in Ontario are just as thuggish and full of themselves, more so since Dalton McGuinty took the helm.

Heck, Cupe scared off Gerard Kennedy, a neo-con liberal, with their threats to go on strike.

Now that the education unions are realizing they are losing the war in the classroom, they've attacked the Teachers College to soften them up for the kill, once Dalton hands it over for free, nothing for the taxpayer in return.

Someone should report Jinny to this. Although an American site applies to Canadian unions as well.

It will be interesting to see what progress has been made when Vince Ready receives and interm report on May 15th.

I would suggest that Jinny is painting herself into a corner and will be a very short term President of the BCTF once the teachers lose out on the $4,000.00 signing bonus.

Then Jenny can take one of the Administrative positions at the BCTF Office which pays between $80,000 and $96,0000 per year. It is my understanding that this is a perk offered to union bigwigs as a way to pad their retirement.

This coupled with a pension for her time BCTF Executive and rep in Nanaimo and of course her compensation (pension) for being a former teacher.

Jinny is set for life with a Platinum plated package while the teachers she is supposed to represent earn between $38,000 & $69,000.

If I was a teacher i would be pissed too.

[S]tandardized tests measure the degree of obedience obtained by individual students. They pretty much rank every kid in the nation from first to last. They justify wholesale exclusions from professional study even though they have never been shown to correlate with future behavior in any professional area. Most of us don’t know this, but the rough and ready test of everyday behavior in regard to these instruments should be enough to open anybody’s eyes. Has anyone reading these words ever asked a doctor, lawyer, architect, babysitter, barber or what have you—even once—what their grades or test scores were? Has anyone even thought to do so? Case closed. Schools don’t teach the way children learn. Children learn by observation, experience, trial and error and involvement, not by confinement and thin abstractions.

Yep.. no standardized tests for doctors or lawyers.. oh wait, except for the LSAT and MCATs that you need to get into med/law school.. tests which have been shown to correlate with performance.
